Sightseeing in La Ceiba

The city of La Ceiba is the third largest city in Honduras and is the center of the eco-tourism scene on this country’s north coast.  Known locally as “La Novia de Honduras” (Honduras’ Sweetheart), La Ceiba is named for a giant Ceiba tree which once stood near the old municipal dock and customs house.   

This Caribbean port city offers a colorful ambience of seaside rhythms, visual delights and ethnic diversity that make it fun for sightseeing, souvenir shopping and dining.   La Ceiba has all the amenities of a large town, but with a small town feel.  It is also the unquestioned night life capital of Honduras.
